[Dhurke had tossed an invitation to Apollo about seeing the northern lights, hoping that perhaps he'd join him, but also half expecting him to decline. Eventhough they've been living together, they've kept some space between them. Every so often Dhurke would try to find opportunities to break the ice with little success.
This was yet another attempt, hoping that being outdoor might bring back the good ol' days and they could just have fun. The viewing site wasn't too far from their home either, so if Apollo didn't want to stay, he could easily just go home.
Dhurke had already gone ahead to help set up the tents and pass out food when he'll notice a set of hair sprouts in the crowd. With a smile, he comes over to greet his son, offering him plate of pigs in a blanket.] Hey there son, glad to see you could make it.
[Apollo's been in and out a lot since his arrival, still not sure what to make of the situation, or the fact that he's living with his flesh and blood adoptive father again. For the first couple weeks, keeping busy and keeping his distance was pretty much keeping him sane.
So when Dhurke tossed the idea to him, he didn't really commit with a real answer. But thinking it over, he'd finally decided. . .well, no point in making things even more awkward, right? And while it isn't stargazing, it was an activity Apollo actually enjoyed. He grabbed a blanket and headed out on his own, fairly sure Dhurke would find him eventually. He had a knack for it, after all.
And he was right.]
Uh--yeah, no bites on a job for tonight, so my schedule was free. [Which is as close as he comes to saying 'i wanted to come' as he can get right now. He takes one of the small wrapped sausages.] Did you make these?
Eheh, thanks. . . [he shakes his head at the offer of stew though, content with the weird little snacks.]
You don't have to go all the way back for my sake. You wanted to watch the lights too, right? I actually saw you earlier when I got here. It looks like you've been running around helping people for a while.
Aw, I don't mind. You're still a growing boy after all, you gotta eat when you can! [He's an adult, Dhurke]
You'd be surprise how many people don't know the basics of camping around here. So of course I went around to help and gave them some pointers. Oh, our spot is over here by the way. I got us a good view. [He'll take him to one of the hillsides, where he had set up two tents along the slope.]
[Dhurke plz. Apollo just makes a thin frown at that, but doesn't comment, chewing on his pig inna blanket. ]
Does no one worry about the dragons that fly around or. . .? [He feels like that is an important thing to note while camping?? He's only met a small child that seems to be concerned about the wyverns, and as far as he knows, that the sanest kid here.
Spotting the campsite, Apollo pauses. Two tents. Dhurke really had wanted him to come, huh? If he'd stood him up. . .haa. Apollo frowns a little at himself before continuing.]
It looks like a nice spot, yeah. How'd you get dibs on that?
[It's almost clockwork when Dhurke gets up at night these last few days. It's late, nothing is open and here was Dhurke, packing to go somewhere again. He glances over to the door that led to Apollo's room, making sure no little horns were sticking out from there. He's already been caught a few times, anymore and he's going to run out of excuses. As he finish packing, he looks over at the door once more before making his getaway.]
[No lawyer horns here, Apollo's room is completely dark, door only slightly cracked. It looks like Dhurke's home free!
At least til he gets outside, anyway. Apollo's out there leaning on fence post, bundled up, staring up at the strange, unknown stars. But hearing someone exit the house, he whips his head around, surprised, but his expression quickly turns into a thin frown.]
--I didn't know you had another job tonight, Dhurke.
Yeah, you would have been gone before I knew it, too.
You've been going out. . .a lot, Dhurke. At first I thought you were just trying to make up for being sick, but this has been going on for a while now. Shouldn't you take a night off?
[It's been two days since he and Holmes had their heated argument and Naruhodou hasn't really forgiven Holmes for basically holding back such a big lie from him. All for what? Was it really worth it?
So he was once again, out wandering the streets and avoiding the Baker Street home. He couldn't keep doing this forever, this place makes it impossible...and Holmes has helped him in the past. Urg. He flops down onto a nearby bench in frustration.]
Why couldn't you just tell me the reason? [It's starting to feel a little hot around Naruhodou right now as he tries to make sense of his reluctance.]
I...I see. [When Apollo asks what he was doing, he frowns. He glances down at his feet. There's noticeable lack of a certain katana sitting at his waist today.]
Just getting some air, I suppose. [...] I discovered someone I considered a friend, has kept a very big lie from me recently.
So you're getting some air to vent some frustrations, there's a big difference there. [He frowns, leaning on his cart.]</small.
I really don't get why anyone still bothers lying to defense attorneys. . .Uuum. Do you need to talk about it?
[ Merchant's Square is pretty awesome for finding just about anything, which is why most people go there at one point or another. And then there's this guy, who's currently looking at different stalls in the market, brows furrowed in deep, deep contemplation as he debates what exactly to get.
The stalls all specialize in sweets. Namely, chocolates. Namely, nice chocolates. Maybe he's just got a sweet tooth? ]
[MAN APOLLO SURE DOES A LOT OF SHOPPING. . .not really, but just wandering through the square is pretty relaxing. He stops short, spotting Asougi, surprised to see him without Naruhodou.
Thinking back, he'd only barraged him with questions at the Christmas party and showed how skilled he is at hording snacks, jeeze. Well, time to make a better second impression! Surely this can't go wrong.
[ Asougi looks extremely surprised when he hears a familiar-ish voice and starts abruptly, turning to find the source. He attempts to regain his composure when he catches sight of Apollo and smiles thinly, waving back. ]
[Oh good he doesn't look annoyed. Apollo breathes an inner sigh of relief, approaching the stand.]
Aha, I come here quite a bit in my free time. I like knowing when the merchants are coming and going, and keeping track of schedules. That and sometimes I can score a few jobs helping out the vendors on the weekends.
But in general it's good to check the place out in case there are seasonal specials. [He blinks, realizing what stand they're at.] Ah, like chocolates?
[ Asougi glances between the stands and Apollo, then nods, crossing his arms. ]
I see. You're rather diligent about that, aren't you? That's a good habit to have. [ He lifts a hand to scratch at his chin. ] Though— you're looking for seasonal specials on . . . chocolates?
Haha, is it? I suppose so. [P-praise!! It's still nice not to be automatically classified as a nerd here, gosh.
Looking over the stand, he points out some of the fancier chocolates.]
And not specifically, I just forgot it was that time of year. I temporarily worked for one of the local candy shops around Halloween last year, you see. I'm not usually big on sweets, but there were a few interesting flavors, so I figured I'd check what was being offered come the next relevant holiday. Guess I didn't realize how soon that was.
Yea? Well, when it gets a little warmer, I'll take ya camping! The wyverns would love it too. [He's a little too excited by the prospect that maybe he's overdoing it? He shakes his head.] Or, well, we can keep it between us. [He rubs his shoulder with his thumb.] Whatever works for you, son.

He just so happens to be wheeling his cart by Naruhodou as he mutters that, and Apollo lets out an exaggerated, flat response.]
The reason is money, but I assume you're talking about something else, not my current position.
no subject
...Er, what exactly is your position right now?
no subject
Yeah, it's me. And I guess I'm technically a groundskeeper for the moment? I-I'm not quite sure, but it's easy money. What are you doing out here?
no subject
Just getting some air, I suppose. [...] I discovered someone I considered a friend, has kept a very big lie from me recently.
